Before you come

Frequently asked questions

What time can I check in and out?

Check-in is from 2 pm and check-out is until 12 noon, in both houses.

Will someone be waiting to hand me the keys?

No need: the keys are in a lockbox at the door and the code reaches you by message on the morning of your arrival. Come whenever suits you.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, in both houses and with no size limit. It is 15 € per night and pet. Tell us when you book and we get everything ready for them too.

Can I smoke?

Outside only. Not indoors.

Where do I park?

On the street, right in front of the houses, and it is free. La Casa de la Abuela also has its own space.

Is there a pool?

In one of the photos you can see a water tank across from La Casa de la Abuela. It is ours, but it has not been adapted for swimming yet, so for now it cannot be used. We say it plainly so nobody arrives expecting one.

How many people fit?

La Casilla, three people. La Casa de la Abuela, five. If you take both at once, eight: they are two steps apart, on the same street.

Do I have to register on arrival?

Yes: Spanish law requires guests to be registered. We send you a form a few days before and it takes two minutes on your phone.

How do I get there?

Gérgal sits next to the A-92, half an hour from Almería and from the Tabernas desert. The houses are on Calle Pilanos, right in the village. Almería airport is 34 km away.

Can I visit the Calar Alto observatory?

Yes, by prior arrangement. It is within the same municipality as the houses. We have a guide on this site with how to book it and when to go depending on the moon.
